I was chatting to a guy I know at work today and we got onto the subject of games which led me to mention Eve (obviously).
He said he used to play the game back in Beta in 2003 with a corp called M0o but hadn't played for a long time. It turns out it's the M0o who caused such mayhem when the game first got released:

He used to fly under the name of Corvanhillo if anyone remembers him.
For a while, at the start, these guys appear to have been superstars in Eve and have the dubious honour of being the only corp to actually cause CCP to directly intervene in a combat situation.
He remembers the game fondly. I thought that was pretty interesting. |

Not a dance then. That sounds like a much better idea.
You know, he just might if I asked him nicely (so before the wallet thing). But what forum would we use? He doesn't have an account any more.

I think you're right about the inflation though. My suspicion is that if you had 50M back then you were considered extremely wealthy.

I was around as a player back in 2003 when they were at their height, and I've never seen a corp so coherent, so focused and a corp that works so well together in combat since. Some of the biggest names in the history of the game were part of m0o. I was there too under a different incarnation, I think it generous to give them such praise, unless I am mistaken they were beta players who were able to use their beta knowledge to gain power fast and harass all the new players. They just ganged up on anyone anywhere, entered a system and announced in local that you are all about to die. Hardly what I call legendary considering their inside experience with the game.
I'm not sure about them having any inside info. Perhaps one to ask if he does an AMA. But I think they were just good at experimenting and working together. |
